Custom Painted Hats

I was asked if I could draw on some blank wool and cotton hats. I started by sketching on them with pencil. I ended up using an assortment of  markers: fabric, permanent, and paint, as well as acrylic paints with fitch brushes, so the hats would be washable.

So here are a few samples of some hats I customized for various people.

It was a fun challenge to draw on a round, 3-dimensional, fuzzy surface, including the visor.

Hill Top Sheepdog

I recently drew an illustrated greeting card to accompany one of my wife's knitting patterns. She named this pattern the Hill Top Jacket in honor of Beatrix Potter, so I did a little research on the landscape of Potter's Hill Top Farm in Cumbria.

This is the sweater pattern. The illustrated notecard is included as a part of the pattern PDF, which you can see here on Ravelry.
